The Division 2 – Escalation First Experiences.

Rise Up Season, Xbox.

Today between Escalation and Retaliation had the most fun in The Division 2 in a very long time, could not stop.

Grand Washington Hotel, Escalation Tier 0, Global Modifier off.

  • In DC will see list of Escalation missions available next to countdown vendor.
  • Chose Grand Washington Hotel, literally first mission in game so yea.
  • Used Hunter Killer Build that’s been buffed with more expertise on gear.
  • Note I did not have the seasonal modifier on, haven’t even done season stuff yet.
  • First run noticed new icon, no Heroic difficulty showing.
  • Wasn’t sure I was even in some new mode at first, difficulty felt like Heroic.
  • Maybe a tad tougher, the final barricaded door in mission is super buffed.
  • Used the mounted gun and it took longer.
  • This was actually Tier 0 Escalation, shows at end.
  • Had my game set to ‘open group’ nobody joined.
  • Think it works like Retaliation, once it starts group is locked maybe.
  • End of mission has 30s counter then stats appear just like Retaliation.
  • End shows Tier 1 now available, so yea mission grinding 101.
  • Got two tokens, they are used to buy more Tiers?
  • Normal gear drops nothing special, wasn’t expecting anything else.
  • Expecting to grind many Tiers to get a prototype drop.

Tier 1, Seasonal Global Turned On, No Modifiers yet! (Much Harder)

  • Tier 1 time, now I see you can use the tokens to do higher up tier.
  • Ok so used a token and it activated Tier 1, reminds me of Diablo 3 greater rift keys.
  • Turned on the season global modifier, I have no modules yet.
  • My armor went from 2.2m to 2.3m with global turned on.
  • Starting, got debuted by first mob of three.
  • Playing tactically, slow and easy, bait and kite.
  • Way tougher, is it the global or tier?
  • Think it’s the global cause debuff causes enemies to take 1/3 armor off a shot.
  • I like when this shit gets harder, bandages quick use double tap action.
  • Hardest part so far was two story burned out section, turrets must go.
  • On final part with Kelso to take on Saint the boss.
  • Woah took me like 10 minutes, ran out of Chameleon bullets once.
  • Saint took a bit more to kill, the real danger again is turrets.
  • Stay out of red zones on enemies, they shred you if hit.
  • Back to the barricaded door, this time swapped shield to turret for help.
  • Door took awhile to go down, enemies killed with mounted gun.
  • Took 36:27 to complete, faster if wasn’t blogging details during.

Potomac Event Center Escalation Tier 2 Solo

  • Was definitely tough, Legendary it felt like.
  • The balcony room then final room for this Hunter killer build not optimal.
  • We got those done, just being sneaky and used turret to aid a bit.
  • Some of them will heal on damage output I think, was a pain.
  • Have the blackout pulse to level 4, stun is great.
  • Not sure how far this build can do solo Tier wise maybe 3, will try maxing.
  • I can survive their damage with ease, but TTK is too slow.
  • Was scrambling for ammo during fights, that’s a sign.
  • Still have lots of modifiers to unlock, some have damage abilities.

So after those two runs I feel with the Global Season Modifier on I should go play normal stuff and get some modifiers activated. I really like the difficulty and see how the Tier 2+ will be tough as crap with Global on and no mods. Update Tier 2 is tough as crap.

Did a tier 3-5 in group using matchmaking, went pretty smooth. I will generally pull out and chase after enemies and higher damage members can kill if using Hunter Killer. Swapped to Red Refactor build and did a few more Tier 3-5 and the 5 wiped us halfway through when server restart was counting down. Ended up getting 3 prototype compnanents for the day. Wondering why Quickstep can’t be upgraded to Protoype.

I am thinking the Rambolita+ build will push this past Tier 3 solo or whatever the max is, this is an enhanced PVE damage variation of the build.
