Tips and Info:
- Using two builds when all directives are on can assist each other, in this video I am using Swiss Army Knife (Ongoing Directive) build to refill my ammo with Gunner specialization active. While using the build my guns are basically using the free hallow points, so we have two benefits free ammo to shoot with while normal ammo fills up for all guns in my inventory.
- Tip, when you load into a new area with all directives “Pistola” activated you will be out of ammo, swap to a build with the Gunner specialization.
- In the video I try to use the Ember Engine build while running around where all the random enemies spawn so I can see them better. Once in the control point I will switch to Swiss Army Knife build to get more ammo if needed and really the only reason I use this build for this run. Goal is to always have Ember Engine doing its thing to multiple enemies all the time.
- You can see me swap builds at a control point during Retaliation often, once the first phase is cleared I do not initiate the second phase “Defend the control point” until I have my build ready. This requires you to be out of combat and this little break in the action is generally the best time.
- I swap to the Ember Scrub build to make everything much easier plus I have full ammo if I need it. The benefit here is due to all directives “Fog of War” being on my drone is highlighting enemies in the area while burning them to the ground.
- Tip, when using the Ember Engine build with Sharpshooter Drone, send the drone to the highest area you can actually climb up to. The advantage is having the drone very high will give better pulse results aka burn more of them.
- With the previous tip I have been able to do 4 open world events at the same time with one single drone spawn placed in a very high spot between all these events. Try doing this when you see Territory Controls, Propaganda Broadcast, Hostage Rescue, Public Executions, and even Control Points close together. You can pop your Ember Engine drone and run by a few events as long as they are near each other or some events might disappear on you.
- Tip, expertise the Sharpshooter Drone for better range, more range is usually always better. At the same time be aware when you launch your Ember Engine drone it can attack from very far at the wrong time.
- Tip, when you have the directive for skill cooldowns with green trophies always try to leave a bunch laying around. After you complete events a new one will spawn there later and your trophies will still be there to reset skill cooldowns.
- Tip, if you join a group with all directives on and are at a control point do not fire off the flare, you might be kicked (I always kick for this). Reason is many players know the spawns well and like having everything ready to finish event very efficiently. Players also might need to go pickup skill cooldowns trophies like in this video to be ready. Good rule of thumb is wait a few seconds if you see people running around grabbing stuff or communicate.
- Tip, if you are using a secondary damaging skill with Ember Engine build like an assault turret don’t use it until it’s actually needed or you are short on time in Retaliation. During the video I use mine only when needed for big Chungas or I need some heals because I have Anomaly augments on some of my gear.
- When I started this Retaliation run my controller disconnected so lost a minute of time and was short most of the fight. The very end I had a little more than 20 seconds left.
- This isn’t the most efficient way to run Retaliations but can be fun and lets me practice my play style tactics. Before this run I had been slaughtering open world with this same play style and figured I’d run 1 round of Retaliation without taking off the directives.
