Update, this event also doubles tokens received from running Escalations, if you host you get more than the other players anytime so don’t give up host. If running solo try a Pestilence build and sit in cover with Ambush (remain stationary for max buff) global event turned on, easiest solo farm at your own pace.
Starting on August 4 2026 the Prototype Surge event begins that doubles the amount of cores from multiple methods for a week. I’ll be breaking down all mine that are not absolutely needed personally, run Escalations more during events. Even prototype caches like from Incursions will have double.
AMBUSH GLOBAL EVENT is the best one and safest due to shooting in cover and getting a massive buff.
Why do this? Prototype cores allow you to reroll augments to get the precise one your build needs. Cores also allow you to upgrade the level of the augment from 1-10 increasing the augments special ability power or chance to trigger. This works only if you are using gear that is prototype and not normal gear.
