Had the game since the play test but wasn’t into it, cancelled pre order, decided to buy it the day of release again. I couldn’t make up my mind, but recently hopped back on and saw this shared event to shoot Arcs. You get bonus items while racking up points in this side event thing, basically join in to a group and shoot Arcs. Ended up learning more like how using the custom loadout is where the fun is instead of very limited free loadout I always used. Then learning what resources you need to re craft stuff for your own loadout after you die because you will, arc or other players will kill you.
I started running the Ferro and upgraded it with an entry level loadout module with safe pocket to keep the defibrillator. Been extracting around 60-70% of the time, sometimes my group goes nuts trying to kill everyone and gets me into trouble though. I did engage a few times, had a feeling and got shot in the back many times just scavenging.
To sum it up:
- Use a custom loadout module
- Craft or purchase a weapon
- Upgrade the weapon or buy it upgraded
- Have plenty of shield rechargers and bandages 5x of each.
- Medium shield is barely noticeable over light 10%.
- Pack a defibrillator and keep in safe pocket to revive others
- If you are trying to farm but group wants to pvp, run off f em.
- Make sure to expand your inventory, it makes a big difference.
- You can sell extra lesser used resources for money, you’ll get more not hard.
- I was keeping around 50 heavy ammo for Ferro which was plenty.
- Secondary weapon if you use keep more ammo, like stitcher 200+ light ammo.
- Ferro seems good for entry weapon and Arc farming, single big shot.
- Play in group to start and learn the game, use “Fill Squad” and have it “On”.
- I suggest using Free Loadout for awhile maybe to level 10.
- Then sell all your crap so you can expand inventory space.
- Do the quests during missions, finished ones showing above finally.
